Brisbane Information
Brisbane City is one of the main hubs, bordering the Brisbane River, and packed with the most retail and business activity of the whole of the Brisbane Shire. The Central Business District (CBD) combines all the aspects of business and entertainment, to provide many services for the general public. Business needs are met through the industries of information technology, financial requirements, higher education opportunities and public sector administration. Entertainment is provided through many shopping malls, an active live music scene, many forms of creative art and live sporting games.
Apart from the City, Brisbane also covers a large area of many other successful suburbs. South Bank often hosts many live music concerts at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. West End also offers a variety of flea markets for the bargain shopper and Fortitude Valley offers a large and wondrous shopping mall. New Farm also provides fine dining and great nightlife activities, just 2km out of the CBD. Bald Hills is also another interesting place to visit, offering a variety of shopping centres, education services and leisure activities.
Brisbane records a typical subtropical climate that features hot, humid summers and dry, mild winters. During summer, temperatures reach a high of
29.4 degrees and a low of 27 degrees and from the end of spring to the beginning of autumn, thunderstorms are usually common over the general Brisbane area. Sometimes, in the more severe of events, hailstones, torrential rain and destructive winds can accompany these thunderstorms.
However, during winter, the weather is more placid, reaching temperatures between 21.8-20.4 degrees.
