Take the vehicular ferry or water taxi from Cleveland for a stunning ride over Moreton Bay, often with the company of dolphins playing with the boat. A bus transfer will take you from Dunwich to Amity Point or Point Lookout. There are many camping grounds on the Island, many on the foreshore requiring 4WD for access. Remember to get your permit.
Metres from Flingers Beach, camp at Adder Rock, with its shady campsites and natural surroundings. Cylinder Beach has a patrolled swimming area with rock and beach fishing close by. There is also a playground at these camping sites. Amity Point campsite is situated on the beach and enjoys calm swimming. There is a nearby boat ramp, with great fishing from the rock walls and jetty.
Take a day to explore this wonderful Island. Brown Lake is accessible in a conventional car and its brown colouring comes from the surrounding vegetation. There are many wildflowers to discover here as well as at Myora Springs: a fresh water spring which is home to a rare nocturnal mammal, the False Water Rat. Wallum Creek runs behind the cricket grounds at Amity Point township and into Moreton Bay.
Enjoy the fresh seafood caught daily. Surf, fish or laze in the sun. Try your hand at a new water sport such as wake boarding. Amity Point is a wonderful place to holiday away from all pressures.
