Banksia Beach Information

From Bellara, the main village on the Island, turn left and you will come to the marvellous village of Banksia Beach, with its magnificent views over the mainland showing the stunning Glasshouse Mountains in these magnificent photographs. These volcanic plugs are the remnants of volcanoes from millions of years ago.

The locals here enjoy the residential canal estate lifestyle for which this region is famous. This enhances the relaxing pace of life, with fishing and bushwalking the main attractions after swimming. Bribie has safe still water swimming in Pumicestone Channel and surf swimming on the eastern side at Woorim. Skippers and Voyagers Canals provide an excellent starting point for fishing expeditions.

With a four wheel drive vehicle, locals and visitors enjoy driving the beaches. Make sure you have a permit, available from newsagents, to feel the thrill of this wonderful beach driving. The population is centred on the southern reaches of the Island, so have the fun of driving to the northern end where you will find the bar separating the Island from the wonderful beach city of Caloundra.

There are some amazing homes to be found to both rent and to own at Banksia Beach.
