Deception Bay Brisbane Queensland Aerial Photos

The suburb of Deception Bay is located 30 kilometres North of Brisbane and is in the south east corner of Deception Bay, a small corner of Moreton Bay. Deception Bay separates the Redcliffe Peninsula and Bribie Island. Explorer John Oxley named Deception Bay in 1823. He had thought he was navigating a river because of the shallowness of the bay. It’s the shallowness of the bay that makes it a popular destination for anglers, boating and swimming. Add to Description →

Deception Bay Information

Deception Bay has been part of a community renewal project (along with nearby Caboolture). The Cotton Wood Walk, located on the foreshore between Captain Cook Parade and the Esplanade incorporates a boat ramp, picnic areas, playgrounds and fishing areas.

Aerial photos of Deception Bay show the nearby Scarborough boat harbour which provides safe mooring for larger boats. Palm Lakes resort and Nazarene Residential Care provide supportive retirement options for the over 50’s. Relaxation can also be found at North Lakes Resort Golf Club, which incorporates Lake Melaleuca and Lake Eden within its boundaries, and great shopping at North Lakes Shopping Centre at nearby Mango Hill.
