The beautiful location of Degarra is situated Far North Queensland, north of Cape Tribulation, half way between Port Douglas and Cooktown. Aerial photos of Degarra shows its remote location which affords the locals privacy and isolation, with amazing views of both the rainforest and the Coral Sea. Add to Description →
Weary Bay is close by, so named by Captain Cook in 1770 when the Endeavour struck a reef in the bay. Named at the same time is the nearby Mount Misery, which sits behind the small township of Wujal Wujal (Bloomfield), which overlooks Weary Bay.
The nearby Daintree Rainforest is world heritage listed, partially due to it being home to the widest range of animals and plants in the world. The Daintree Rainforest is over 135 million years old.
The amazing aerial photos of Degarra clearly show the meeting of the Daintree rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef, a feature of this part of Queensland. The reef edge is clear in all of these photographs.
