Bli Bli Information
Most of the year lush green sugar cane brackets the tiny town of Bli Bli. During harvest time to herald in the dusk, a mystical glow appears when the cane is burnt prior to the harvesting. Flames leap high into the air and the smell of warm sugar permeates the district.
Bli Bli is split by the Maroochy River as it winds its way through the sugar cane on the way to the ocean. The river leads into the Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary – a natural haven for fish and birdlife.
Bli Bli is a sleepy village with one notable landmark – Bli Bli Castle. A majestic replica Norman Castle and tourist attraction - full of turrets, gargoyles and high castle walls that dominate the surrounding landscape.
Approximately 10 minutes drive from Bli Bli is the imposing Mount Coolum above the beautiful Coolum Beach.
