Coochin Creek Information

The Pumicestone Passage is well known for the diversity of the local birds, fish and other animals. Nearby Bribie Island passage affords many activities for the boating and water sports enthusiast.

The entire Coochin Creek area is surrounded by pine plantations, opening to eucalyptus forest, and some remnant rainforest. Access is by conventional car, although the track is not paved. It can be quite rough and is winding and narrow in places.

The camping and picnic ground in Coochin Creek has composting toilets, wood-fire barbeques and tank water, with firewood supplied.

Fishing and canoeing in Coochin Creek are popular pastimes. Many walks of varying levels of fitness are possible from this campground, either by foot or by a short car trip to the Glasshouse Mountains.
