Currimundi Lake Information

Currimundi Lake is located near Wurtella and Esplanade Park and is accessible through Nicklin Way. The Currimundi Lake facilities include toilets, a playground, a café and shop, BBQ’s and an open picnic area.

Currimundi Lake meets the surf with a running stream, Tokara Canal as can be seen in aerial photos of Currimundi Lake. Surfing is possible on the easterly facing beach, however the receding tide can make the waves stand up and inexperienced surfers should take care on strong tides.

Many other recreational activities can be undertaken at Currimundi Lake. There is an off leash dog area nearby, however dogs are not permitted in the lake area.

Beach fishing is a highlight of this area, make sure that you pack the yabbie pump and cast net! Be aware that during the high seasons beach positions are at their premium, so fishing in the early mornings and late afternoons is recommended to avoid the crowds.
