Mountain Creek Information
Just by looking at these wonderful aerial photos, you will be lost in a wonderland of waterways, lush forest, cooling sea breezes and sunshine. Mountain Creek is named after the creek running down from Mount Buderim and into the Mooloolah River. In the late 1800s, the region was the site of a rafting ground, sending logged timber to the river.
Mountain Creek sold its first residential land in 1982. Most homes nestle around the manmade lake in the middle of the leafy suburb. The community is well served with schools, TAFE, library, shops, service station and childcare. Mountain Creek is away from the commercial tourist strip of the golden beaches and enjoys a community atmosphere. It has all the modern conveniences of a new suburb with easy access to some of the best beaches in Queensland.
Paraka Court is one of the most expensive streets in Mountain Creek and, with its big blocks, Saratoga Drive is much sought after. According to the 2006 Census, Mountain Creek has a majority of single homes, mainly brick and tile.
It is a short trip to Minyama on the eastern side of Brisbane Road. Here, there is safe anchorage from storms while further to the north is Kawana Island, another popular surfing beach with great shopping available for locals and tourists.
