Cooloola Sand Patch Information

Beginning at Noosa and continuing through to Rainbow beach, the Cooloola Sand Patch boasts more than 80 kilometres of beaches. Visitors are often stunned by the pristine nature of this area so close to major settlement.

The azure water at Cooloola Sand Patch entices swimming and diving. Teewah Beach, sometimes called 40-mile beach, is found just north of Red Canyon, where coloured sands have formed through the oxidation of minerals.

Along the entire Great Sandy National Park dolphins, manta ray and turtles are often seen, as are whales during whale season from July to November.
