Double Island Point Information

He neglected to say that the entire area is covered with the most beautiful beaches that can be seen in aerial photos of Double Island Point.

Located in the Cooloola section of the Great Sandy National Park at the Southern end of the Wide Bay region, this region is a beacon for whale watching during the season from July to November. Diving is also a popular past time with Wolf Rock just off the cost, one of the top 10 diving sites in the world.

A feature of Double Island Point is the Lighthouse built in 1884. The metal clad lighthouse was lit with kerosene vapour until 1923, when it became electrically run. In 1992 the final conversion made it both solar powered and unmanned.

Double Island Point sits in the middle of Teewah beach to the south and to the west the beautiful coloured sands of Rainbow Beach are found.
